The Hell City Tattoo Festival is a celebration of body art and the education of tattooing and other forms of body modification for all. Nowhere else can you find such a collection of skilled tattoo artists in one area. Every year thousands of people come for the weekend to be tattooed by the worlds best artists and hang out with others in the tattoo community. If you see any of the attending artists you would like to get tattooed by on the HC website, it is a good idea to book your artist early, you can do that by clicking the attending artists studio link. But Hell City does not just have tattooing as entertainment. All weekend long various acts, contests, art fusion, and other entertainment happen in the festival. This is a world class convention, smooth running, and packed with hundreds of brilliant artists from the world over. Hell City has come to be one of the industries favorite events. Everyone appreciates the festival because the atmosphere is warm, jovial and welcoming to the guests who come for a peek into another world. We encourage you to explore the Hell City website, poke around, browse the photo galleries of the past HC’s, and share them with your mates and loved ones. Aside from TV specials and any vibe you think you get when you drive by your local tattoo studio, where else will you learn the truth of tattooing and other art forms? Hang out and have fun with Hell City Tattoo Artists, Collectors & Enthusiasts!

 

Thursday early artist set up will be from 5pm - 8pm in the ballroom. This gives artists a chance to partially setup prior to the fest, making opening the gates of Hell City on Friday go smooth!

Then Thursday evening, we give everyone the chance to meet, mingle, make appointments, and get ready for one hell of a weekend! The artist meet & greet will be free & open to the public Thursday night at the Bar. Be sure to come and hang out with all tattoo artists, as well as tattoo collectors and enthusiasts! The Meet & Greet starts at 8pm and goes till the Bar closes! Remember to drink responsibly and have good times with great people!

Whether or not you plan on hanging out at the bar, or venturing out to see the night life. Hell City after parties are definitely not to be missed! Last years after parties were out of hand every night and we're sure this years will be the same!! Come join other tattoo artists in the festivities at the bar, drink, mingle, and have one hell of a good time!! Please respect the venue once you're drunk, keep the good times great!!

 Various times all weekend at the main stage Tattoo Competitions will be held. Registration fee for each category is $15 (Tattoo of the Day is free). A panel of carefully selected tattoo artists will judge the tattoo competition using Hell City special electronic rating methods. The competing tattoos will be displayed to the attendees on a large screen and will be announced over a P.A. system to keep attendees informed on details of the competing piece. One 4'x8' board will be put out on Thursday night for the pre-party and remain filling up until Friday, then a new board will be on display from Saturday and Sunday.

It's like Art Fusion, but with a shot of whiskey to loosen you up! Be sure to step up to the Evil Easel and add a little to it or collaborate with your fellow artists.

An exciting performance art at Hell City Tattoo Festival! The Art Fusion Experiment brought to you by Paul Booth, Filip Leu, and Guy Aitchison. This performance art involves between 3 to 5 artists collaborating, changing canvases every 3 to 5 minutes, and completing pieces of art done in charcoal, color pastels, or other mediums. The Art Fusion Experiment will be held every day of the Hell City Tattoo Festival on the HC Second Stage periodically throughout the entire weekend. This event is a definite crowd pleaser and shouldn't be missed! At the second stage everyday! There will also be a silent auction for all the completed work.

Magician/Escape Artist Mike Scarpino has been performing for over 15 years for audiences in close-up settings to crowds of 20,000+ people. Known by many as "the fork guy," you won't believe your eyes when he makes metal twist and bend by mindpower alone. Mike's use of slight of hand and manipulation will keep you guessing as he adds his own wild twists to classic slight of hand- there is no telling who's pants a card might come out of! As an escape artist, Mike always pushes himself to the limit, taking on extreme escape challenges. In 2010, he was bound in a straight jacket and sealed in a plastic bag for nearly 8 minutes, narrowly escaping a suffocating death. Cards, metal bending, fire, escapes and more. THAT is the magic of Mike Scarpino!

     Seminars are a great way to learn and excel at your trade!
     
    You can get info on seminars and sign up for the seminars at the convention before the seminar starts at the seminar room. See the Admissions Counter upon arrival at Hell City for information, or simply show up at Hell City seminar room prior to seminar. Attendees will be checked for HC wrist bands prior to taking seminars, you must pay HC admission in addition to the seminar to be able to take any seminar at Hell City.

    The Fine Art Gallery is next to the seminar room, special events room and sinema room! All weekend we are asking all attending tattoo artists to bring at least one piece of fine art with them to display at the convention. The fine art will be displayed in a gallery area right next to the sinema and seminar rooms dedicated to displaying other works of art from attending artists. Artists may sell their artwork or just present it for everyone to see. Artists must provide name tags for each piece of art stating the name of the artist and the studio they are with. Artists that wish to sell their fine art must provide pricing for each piece.

    The Hell City Sinema is one of the many additions to Hell City where you can rest your feet and watch one of the many tattoo inspired modern and historical tattoo flicks that will be played continuously over the weekend. Located right next to the fine art gallery! Tattoo Wars will be showing daily in the HC Sinema! Tattoo Wars pits the best tattoo artists of our time against each other in a head to head creation competition. The worlds best tattoo artists go head to head at a historic past Hell City! In these episodes you will explore the world, legend and work of two internationally acclaimed tattooists, Guy Aitchison and Aaron Cain. Then travel to a the Hell City Tattoo Fest in Phoenix, Arizona where our stars do a tattoo on the skin of one willing client in 3 hours. These creations have a common theme, a human heart, but are rendered in the unique style of each artist. As the show closes, thousands of show attendees vote for the creation they like the best and the winning artist takes home the Tattoo Wars trophy.

FOR THE LIL' DEVIL IN YA!
 



 
Heck City Kids Zone is a small area at Hell City devoted to the lil’ devils that come with their parents. The Heck City Kids Booth will have a coloring contest,face painting, balloons, candy, pictures with the Hell City mascot, and a wide variety of temporary tattoos for boys and girls to show off on the convention floor. All temporary tattoos will be applied by professional, sterile and clean Heck City Temporary Tattoo Artists. New bucket and sponge each lil’ devil (wink). You can even print out the Heck City Devil page on the kids’ section and go crazy with your crayons, markers, or colored pencils and show up with it. Each winner will also be brought on stage to present his or her award of a free temporary tattoo of their choice and a Hell City t-shirt. Coloring pictures will be available at the Kid’s Booth! There will be a contest every day at 10PM to randomly select a winner.

 This is your chance to cast your votes for the "Tattoo Artist Choice Awards"!

The “Tattoo Artist Choice Awards” is a ceremony that will be held at Hell City Phoenix, Arizona celebrating those who have made contributions to the tattoo profession and have made a statement through their hard work, dedication and artistic accomplishments. In this award ceremony, favoritism will be eliminated to help expose many talented, often overlooked artists. In addition to the voting website, there will be voting stations placed at various tattoo events nationwide. For all best tattoo artist categories, ONLY PROFESSIONAL TATTOOERS can vote for their choices. This will be monitored and regulated by voting registration, any unqualified votes will not be counted. The PUBLIC may vote for specialty categories, i.e. Best Tattoo Model, Best Tattoo Magazine Publication, etc.

The “Tattoo Artist Choice Awards” ceremony is unlike any other in the industry and strives to maintain the professions ethics while celebrating the artists. Quality is very important to the success of this event, so there will be a team that will check the artist voter credentials. Nominees and Voter requirements: Artists must work as a professional in a tattoo studio and submit their email address, name and upload their BBP or tattoo license. The PUBLIC only has to add their name and email address to submit their vote. To nominate a candidate for a category you can just send email to cast your vote. The awards ceremony will be presented at a different tattoo convention every year, giving all regions the opportunity to participate in this celebration. We are happy to announce the “Tattoo Artist Choice Awards” 2013 will be held at the 2013 Hell City Tattoo Festival in Phoenix, Arizona this August 23rd-25th!
